Meet Our Survivor Advocacy Program Graduate Assistant!

My name is LaKendra Johnson and I’m originally from Cleveland, OH. After graduating in 2007, I attended Ohio University and completed my Bachelor degree in Journalism in 2011 – my major was magazine journalism with a minor in psychology. Currently, I am working toward earning my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am in my second year, doing my practicum and internship at Counseling and Psychological Services.
I’m also the graduate assistant at the Survivor Advocacy Program. I was drawn to this program because I have a desire to work with victims and survivors in my future career. So many women and men are afraid to come forward and seek services and speak about their experiences and my hope is that I can make that taking that step a little easier for each person that wishes to tell their story.
