2012-2013 Women’s Center Mentoring Program

Connecting Women Across and Beyond Campus for Support, Leadership, and Excellence!

The Women’s Center is now accepting applications for its Mentoring Program. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 1.

Now in its fifth year, the Women’s Center Mentoring Program provides an opportunity for junior and senior female students at Ohio University to be matched with a female mentor in their personal and professional fields of interest. The goal of the program is to enrich the student experience at Ohio University and to pair students with a mentor who can offer guidance and assist them in reaching their personal and professional goals.

In addition to building a mentoring relationship, participating students and mentors will have the opportunity to attend programs and activities focusing on career and personal development that are hosted by the Women’s Center.

Student accepted into the program must commit to be an active part of the mentoring relationship; i.e. participate in a mandatory mentee orientation, engage in regular and open communication with their mentor, have a clear idea of their goals for the program and their relationship with their mentor, and be open to honest advice and guidance.

The program is designed for students who have either clearly-defined or unsure career goals.
