New Group Meeting at the Women’s Center (Beginning Monday!)

This quarter, we’d like to welcome Art of Living to the Women’s Center!

The organization Art of Living, founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a spiritual teacher and leader, is an international volunteer based humanitarian NGO focused on healing through meditation.  It has helped 300 million people in over 140 countries with its programs and courses and it works in special consultative status with the the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).  Among the meditation techniques taught is the Sudarshan Kriya, a powerful breathing technique which puts the body and mind into a deep state of rest.  The knowledge behind the techniques as well as the techniques themselves, while spiritual, are compatible with any religion, and these techniques have been medically proven to aid in physical, mental, and emotional healing.  The Art of Living community in Athens has become solid.  About 15 individuals are involved regularly in weekly meditations, which includes professors, students and other local professionals, and about 40 others that come and go as they can.

Art of Living meets Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Women’s Center. For more information, contact Jill Klimpel, or Emilie Walker,
