Fall Newsletter 1

Hello and welcome back! We hope your Fall Quarter has started off well. This issue will give you some updates on what is happening this week at the Women’s Center.

THIS WEEK AT THE WOMEN’S CENTER
1) Women’s Center Open House / Brown Bag Lunch: Meet and Greet with Lindsey Daniels: Thursday, September 16 at noon
All are invited to the Women’s Center to meet Lindsey Daniels, Program Coordinator Survivor Advocacy Program.
2) Self-Defense Workshop with Cheryl Cesta Thursday, September 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Local self-defense expert Cheryl Cesta will have a self-defense workshop in the Women’s Center. The workshop is free, but registration is required.
3) Women’s Center Mentoring Program accepting applications: Applications for the Women’s Center 2011 Mentoring Program will be accepted until October 3. The program is designed for junior and senior women students with both clearly defined or unsure career goals.

We are also looking for OU alumnae, current and retired female faculty and staff, female graduate students and Athens area professionals and activists are eligible to serve as mentors.
4) Walk A Mile In Her Shoes – Save the date! : The third annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes will be held on October 9. Look for upcoming registration tables at Baker Center and contact David Bly at db269806@ohio.edu for more information.
